WINTERLIGHT FESTIVAL PARRAMATTA 27TH JUNE – 14TH JULY 2013


Following on from the success of Parramatta lanes, we’re popping up again in Parramatta. As part of their winter light festival, we’ll be operating an ‘igloo’ style winter bar.
So be prepared to sip on warm a traditional Swedish Glögg Wine, complete with rum soaked raisins, White Rabbit Dark Ales, or one of our signature Jam Jar Cocktails. We’ll also have a selection of hot chocolate, mocktails and teas.

AGNSW CONTEMPO ‘BEHIND THE SCENES’ COCKTAIL CLASSES
Grasshopper is pleased to once again be raising money for the Contempo arm of the Art Gallery of New South Wales. We’ll be holding cocktail classes with all profits raised to go to Contempo for their annual Art Acquisition. This year you’ll be taken behind the scenes at the AGNSW to see places normally closed off to the public. After that you’ll be making a few cocktails with John Toubia, our master cocktail maker and taking home you’re own pack courtesy of Finlandia Vodka.

18th July – Yering Station (Victoria) and chief winemaker William ‘Willy’ Lunn presenting a rare showing of reserve wines
Yering Station is Victoria’s first Vineyard. Be treated to a once in a lifetime masterclass on the great 2010 vintage with the chance to sample the Reserve wines. An evening not to be missed with the winery’s chief winemaker William (Willy) Lunn. Enjoy some classic food and wine pairings as you sip some fine rare wines.

15th August – David Hook (NSW) One of the ‘New Gen’ winemakers from the Hunter Valley showing alternate Italian varietals.
Enjoy a night with David Hook of the Hunter Valley. He’ll take you on a journey through some alternate Italian varieties grown in Sydney’s ‘backyard’. It’s a boutique winery that creates some unique NSW wines. You will also be treated to some local Hunter Valley cheeses.
$28 per person

25th September – Dowie Doole – Chris Thomas Winemaker
Do you know what Chenin Blanc is? What about Tempranillo and Garnacha? Find out more with Chris Thomas winemaker of Dowie Doole. The Dowie and Doole family vineyards are home to some of the earliest plantings in McLaren Vale, SA. Often referred to as the ‘Master of Chenin Blanc’ their attention to detail and extraordinary vineyard sites sets them apart. Enjoy the wines with an evening of ‘tapas’.
